American Rescue Plan

The American Rescue Plan (ARPA) kickstarted Americaโ€™s economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Provided Direct Relief for Every American

The American Rescue Plan provided stimulus relief of up to $1,400 per person; increased the Child Tax Credit, Earned-Income Tax Credit, and Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit; extended unemployment insurance; and lowered health insurance premiums. These changes lifted millions of family and children out of poverty.

Fueled Economic Recovery

The American Rescue Plan provided emergency grants, lending, and invested in hard-hit small businesses, letting them rehire and retain workers. ARPA also established a Small Business Opportunity Fund to provide growth funding small businesses in economically disadvantaged areas.

Directly Invested in American Communities

The American Rescue Plan provided a once-in-a-generation direct investment in American towns, cities, counties, and schools. This investment equipped each community with the tools they needed to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic in a fair, equitable way.

Contained COVID-19 & Reopened Schools

The American Rescue Plan funded the largest national vaccination program in American history, helping stop the spread of COVID-19 by distributing vaccines as quickly as possible, while addressing racial disparities in COVID-19 outcomes. ARPA also gave schools the tools they needed to safely reopen for in-person instruction.
